INSIDE OF ME
Tell me what's inside of me,
The part I cannot be.
I'm on the inside looking out;
Sometimes it's hard to see.
What is it, I do not know.
What's so close within myself?
I must keep looking for that thing.
What? I cannot tell.
There's an empty place in my life,
I can't quite seem to fill.
I'm growing up to leave behind
The me I knew so well.
I realize now, I've wasted time,
Searching for things unknown.
There is no vacancy in there - - -
The answer is: I've grown!!
GRANDFATHER
Grandfather sings, I dance.
Grandfather speaks, I listen.
Now I sing, who will dance?
I speak, who will listen?
Grandfather hunts, I learn.
Grandfather fishes, I clean.
Now I hunt, who will learn?
I fish, who will clean?
Grandfather dies, I weep.
Grandfather is buried, I am left alone.
When I am dead, who will cry?
When I am buried, who will be left alone?
